A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to inactive email addresses under the same domain. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive messages from buddies or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
Setting up a catch-all mailbox will be astonishingly easy in case you’ve got a Linux hosting service with us. You can enable this feature through our advanced, albeit simple-to-use Email Manager, which is integrated into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll administer the hosting account itself. You will see all the mailboxes that you have set up displayed in alphabetical order and next to each one there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly reveal to you whether a certain mailbox receives all the messages for a certain domain name or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature whenever you want. In case there is activated email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain, you will receive a warning notification from our system. The latter will not replace/deactivate anything automatically and without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all feature can be enabled easily in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created using the domain names hosted in your account will be listed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll see a tiny icon conveniently situated directly next to each one. With just a single mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with the option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate this feature through the context menu that will appear. In case any of the prerequisites for creating a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will warn you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
